'Mad Max' Bugatti Chiron Is The Wasteland's Biggest Gas Guzzler
A digital artist rendered the iconic supercar as an apocalyptic vehicle.
Instagram user @demetr0s_designs has just uploaded a Mad Max inspired aggressive, off-road Bugatti Chiron supercar rendering. This Chiron has been completely revamped, with almost every single feature of the car modified. Likewise, the very function of the car has also been completely transformed and seeks to serve a very different purpose compared to a standard Bugatti Chiron. While, performance specifications are not known, there are a couple of hints in the picture which indicate that this car might even be more powerful than a standard Bugatti Chiron.
The Bugatti Chiron is a truly special supercar in more ways than one. Regardless of the specific model, be it the Chiron Super Sport 300+ or the Chiron Pur Sport, Chirons are feats of automotive technology.
However, Instagram has once again shown that there is truly no limit to creativity with the rendering of this aggressive Bugatti Chiron. The car is clearly very far from stock, geared towards aggressive, off-road driving, the type showcased in Mad Max. The artist states, in his Instagram post, that he wanted to "create a visual of this car in a post apocalyptic, highly aggressive environment."
To work with the landscape of large boulders and desert as far as the eye can see, the artist has adapted the car to make it more suited for this environment. The two most obvious features on the Chiron are the spiky metal bull-bar at the front and the elongated, upward reaching exhaust pipes. The brownish coloration hint at rust and decay, further adding to the post-apocalyptic vibe of the car. Furthermore, the car sits higher than a standard Chiron with bulky, mud tires and off-road suspension noticeably lifting the chassis. The wider fender flares and protective metal caging on the windshield is even more reminiscent of vehicles featured in Mad Max, taking the car beyond an off-road vehicle to a true aggressive, post-apocalyptic weapon of survival.
Even more interesting is the two massive superchargers that sit at the top of the Chiron. It seems that the W16 engine has moved to the top of the car, allowing the attachment of two blower style superchargers. Chances are that the performance capabilities of this Chiron, namely power and torque, would be even higher than the standard 1,500 hp and 1180 lb-ft of torque found in factory models.
